Ford Racing Unveils 2013 Fusion NASCAR Sprint Cup Car

Bringing "Stock Car" Back to NASCAR
The New 2013 Ford Fusion NASCAR Sprint Cup Car has been Unveiled

2013 Ford Fusion NASCAR & Production Model
The new Ford Fusion Sprint Cup car was unveiled yesterday (24th January) at the Charlotte Motor Speedway Media Tour. Ford designers have worked  hard to mirror the Fusion production car in an effort to bring brand identity back to the track; and what a superb job they have done. The new Fusion racer will make its debut at Daytona 500 in February 2013.

Just by looking at the new model, it is clear to see the Fusion means business, with its aggressive stance and ability to 'ooze' power from all angles. The Fusion is even expected to be slightly more agile on its toes. The new Fusion was ultimately designed to be the face of a new era in stock car racing, with its sleek looks and dramatic features. "We wanted Fusion to be the car that helped return 'stock car' to NASCAR," said Jamie Allison, Director Ford Racing.
This occasion marks the third time that Ford has simultaneously launched a production car and a NASCAR version of the new model. The First dual launch came in 1968 with the Ford Torino, when legendary NASCAR driver David Pearson drove it in back-to-back championships in 1968 and 1969.

The development of the 2013 Fusion racer has been extremely intense, with Ford taking on a different approach. "This is a seminal moment in the sport where we had a chance to get it right once again and make sure the race cars are race versions of street cars. I am proud because I believe we have accomplished just that," said Allison. "The 2013 Fusion is a stunning car and the 2013 NASCAR Fusion is even more stunning and I can't wait to see it perform on the track and connect with the race fans."

Make sure to look out for the New Ford Fusion at Daytona 500 in February 2013: It means business.
