Triple Eight Race Engineering announce Collins Contractors as 2011 title sponsors

The team will officially be called the Triple Eight Race Engineering with Collins Contractors as Triple Eight are pleased to have reached an agreement with Collins Contractors for the organisation to become to the team’s title sponsors for this season.

Collins Contractors is a long-time supporter of driver Tony Gilham, after sponsoring him in last year’s Porsche Carrera Cup. Now joining the Touring Cars as a driver for Triple Eight Race Engineering, alongside new team-mate James Nash, Collins Contractors decided to follow him.  
“We decided to take the plunge in moving up to Touring Cars,” Phil Lavender, Managing Director Collins Contractors said. Both cars will carry the identification of Collins Contractors.


Triple Eights NGTC engines
The 2011 season marks the beginning of the transition from the current BTCC Formula; to a new Next Generation Touring Car with improved technical regulations. The team will run the NGTC engines in their two Vauxhall Vectra's this season, as will a few other teams such as Pirtek Racing and Honda Racing. The turbo-charged engines will be prepared by Swindon Racing.“With the introduction of the new Next Generation Touring Car engines, it will be closer racing than ever,” Phil Lavender said.

Triple Eight are pleased to welcome Collins Contractors to the team as their new title sponsors. “We’re all very please to have Collins Contractors on board with us this season, not only as backers for our new driver Tony Gilham but as title sponsors too.” Chairman of Triple Eight, Ian Harrison said. 

The team are confident they can achieve top spots throughout the 2011 season and are ready for the forthcoming opening round at Brand Hatch.
“With our backing and Triple Eight’s BTCC pedigree, we hope to see our drivers on the podium.” Phil Lavender said.
